THE MECHW INITIATIVE

Resources & Support

After-Hours Peer to Peer Support Group - Coming soon!

MECHWI has created a peer/peer support group to bring CHWs together to share common problems and experiences associated with a particular problem, condition, resource, or personal circumstance. In a support group, people can talk with other folks who are like themselves - people who truly understand what they're going through and can share the type of practical insights that can only come from firsthand experience. Additionally, this specialized group allows CHWs all over the state to share resources and network.

The After-Hours Group will be facilitated by CHWs to keep the group on track and see that all ideals are respected. During this time, the group will not be recorded, nor will minutes be taken, and confidentiality will always be honored.

Health Information

Below is a list of educational materials and resources on specific health topics that we have compiled for CHWs in Maine. This includes information specific to the COVID19 pandemic. If you have a resource or document that you would like to make available for other CHWs, we would love to post it to this webpage. We also want to hear from CHWs about what types of information they need. You can send us message about resource sharing and requests for health information using the contact page.

Directory of CHW Organizations

The Maine CHW Initiative is planning a directory that will contain basic information about CHWs programs across the state. The directory will serve as a resource for community members, patients, health care providers, and policy makers about where CHWs are accessible. If you work for a program using CHWs and would like to be listed on the future directory, please contact us here, send us a message using the contact page. We also encourage CHWs to participate in our statewide workforce survey that we are conducting in collaboration with the University of Maine System.
